Description

You will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of next-generation data streaming and event-based platforms using Confluent Kafka.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and organize a team of Kafka administrators and developers, including task assignment and facilitating technical review meetings.
• Architect and implement event-driven architectures, defining strategies for streaming data to warehouses and integrating with microservices.
• Establish Kafka best practices, standards, and integration patterns based on specific use cases.
• Triage and resolve platform issues in a hands-on capacity across all components.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in modern software development, systems analysis, and design.
• 7+ years of combined experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.
• Expertise in Confluent Kafka internals, capacity planning, installation, and platform management.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, KStreams, KSQL, and scaling infrastructure (Broker, ZooKeeper, Schema Registry, Control Center).
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Apache Flink and AWS services including ECS, EKS, and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.
• 2+ years of experience designing, architecting, and deploying to AWS cloud platforms.
• 1+ years of experience leading technical teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kafka installation and partitioning on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Expertise in Kafka cluster and application security.
