Description

Own the monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Kafka Connectors and clusters, ensuring reliable data flow between Kafka and ServiceNow.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Manage Source and Sink connector configurations and create connector instances for individual tables.
• Implement data format conversions, transforming Protobuf to JSON and vice versa during data ingestion and egress.
• Develop Java-based business logic to handle data transformations and custom ingesters pushing data to ServiceNow.
• Utilize Confluent REST proxy connectors for JSON-to-Protobuf conversion and Kafka publishing.
• Execute CI/CD operations involving Docker containers and service migration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Connect.
• Strong proficiency in Java development for building business logic and custom components.
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integration and API interactions.
• Practical knowledge of REST APIs and Confluent ecosystem tools.
• Familiarity with data formats including Protobuf and JSON.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with custom Kafka connectors and ingesters.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow integration patterns.
