Description

Design, build, and refactor Java-based critical applications with a focus on Kafka streaming architectures.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build, re-architect, and refactor Java codebases for critical production applications.
• Design and implement Kafka architectures including consumption, publishing, and streaming integrations.
• Process streamed data from Kafka using Spark and Scala.
• Optimize complex queries within Oracle RDBMS and Vertica data warehouses.
• Manage the full lifecycle of microservices and containerized applications.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Java development and codebase refactoring.
• 5+ years of experience with Kafka (consumption, publishing, and streaming).
• 3+ years of experience with Spark and Scala for stream processing.
• Deep knowledge of Java concurrency modules and multi-threading implementations.
• Experience migrating Java code from JDK 7 to JDK 8 or 11+.
• Proficiency with Spring modules and Maven build scripts.
• Experience writing JUnit tests for Java code coverage.
• Strong understanding of RDBMS (Oracle) and data warehousing (Vertica).
• Experience with containers and microservices lifecycles.

Preferred Skills

• Python programming experience.
• Knowledge of Drools rules engine, Hazelcast, or distributed caching frameworks.
• Experience with UI development and RESTful API contract building.
