Description

You will manage and maintain Kafka clusters and streaming components within a Confluent environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Kafka clusters using CI/CD tools and automation.
• Automate repetitive tasks including topic creation, connector creation, and RBAC provisioning.
• Configure and maintain DR, Active-Active clusters, cluster linking, and schema linking.
• Troubleshoot producer and consumer issues and advise developers on tuning parameters.
• Support high-priority production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of experience in Kafka engineering and broker management.
• Expertise with the Confluent platform, Schema Registry, and KSQL.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible and cp-ansible for automation.
• Experience setting up connectors for MQ, JDBC, Splunk, BQ, and Blob.
• Proficiency with IBM MQ and IBM IIB.
• Proven ability to manage cluster deployment and DR strategies.
• Ability to resolve complex production incidents and provide technical fixes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with IBM IIB integration.
• Deep understanding of Confluent cluster linking mechanisms.
