Description

You will develop and modify code within the Linux Networking Stack to optimize performance for high-speed NICs, owning the release pipeline for protocol stack enhancements and network virtualization layers.

Responsibilities

  • Modify Linux Networking Stack code to enhance performance for high-speed NICs.
  • Develop and enhance protocol stacks, including TCP/IP and UDP/IP.
  • Work across the sockets layer, protocol layer, device layer, and network virtualization.
  • Analyze hardware and software elements using platform-specific tools and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in Linux kernel and network stack programming.
  • Proficiency in C programming and device driver development.
  • Deep understanding of Linux operating system internals and computer architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and socket layer development.
  • Experience with socket layer adjacencies such as libevent or poll.
  • Familiarity with network benchmarks and performance evaluation methods.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of eBPF, user-mode networking, and OpenvSwitch.
  • Experience with tunneling protocols like VxLAN, NVGRE, or NSH.
