Description

Manage and maintain vanilla Kubernetes or kubeadm-based clusters in a multi-cluster environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Kubernetes control plane and troubleshoot cluster-related issues including worker nodes, deployments, and ingress.
• Execute upgrades for Kubernetes components such as Istio, nginx ingress, CNI components, and outcold.
• Own the management of Persistent Volume Claims (PVC) and storage within the cluster.
• Operate within a GitOps model to manage application deployments and infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for control plane, ingress, and node-level failures.

Required Skills

• Over 8 years of experience in the IT industry, with minimum 3 years specifically as a Kubernetes Administrator.
• Hands-on experience building and managing vanilla Kubernetes or kubeadm clusters.
• Deep expertise in managing the Kubernetes control plane.
• Proven experience managing Kubernetes components including Istio, nginx ingress, and CNI.
• Practical experience working with Persistent Volume Claims (PVC).
• Experience managing multi-cluster environments.
• Experience working in environments utilizing a GitOps model.
• Strong Linux administration skills.

Preferred Skills

• CKA certification.
• Experience with Portworx.
• Knowledge of VMware and on-prem virtualization.
