Description

You will own advanced PostgreSQL database operations, including performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Optimize database performance using query analysis, indexing strategies, and configuration tuning.
• Manage replication and high-availability solutions using Patroni or pg_auto_failover.
• Design and execute backup strategies, including Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR).
• Lead incident response and perform root cause analysis for complex production issues.
• Automate routine tasks and infrastructure deployment using scripting and IaC tools.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of database administration experience.
• Advanced PostgreSQL expertise (pg_stat_statements, pgBackRest, pg_upgrade).
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix environments.
• Expertise in SQL and PL/pgSQL, including stored procedures and triggers.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Knowledge of security hardening (TLS, RBAC, pgAudit).
• Experience managing PgBouncer.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cross-platform migrations from Oracle using Ora2Pg.
• Experience managing partitioning and advanced indexing (BRIN, GIN, GiST).
