Description

You will administer large-scale Microsoft SQL Server estates supporting mission-critical production workloads. You own Sev-1/Sev-2 incidents, lead RCA, and ensure strict RTO/RPO adherence through advanced HA/DR strategies.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server estates across Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers, ensuring uptime and performance.
• Manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery using Always On Availability Groups, failover validation, and restore testing.
• Lead Sev-1/Sev-2 incident response, diagnosis, resolution, and post-incident RCA with preventive actions.
• Perform advanced performance engineering: execution plan analysis, wait-stat diagnostics, indexing, and capacity forecasting.
• Drive automation and standardization of repetitive operational workloads like patching, provisioning, and backups.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server.
• Deep expertise in SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery (Always On, RTO/RPO).
• Advanced performance tuning: execution plans, wait stats, blocking/deadlock resolution.
• Proficiency with enterprise monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Splunk, Nagios, and native SQL telemetry.
• Experience with administration tooling: SSMS, SCOM, and SQL Central Management Server.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, SOX controls, and audit logging.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating within ServiceNow AIOps/Event Manager environments for event correlation and anomaly detection.
