Description

You will manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of networking hardware and server infrastructure within a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, servers, PDUs/CDUs, and console servers.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve device issues for end-user support.
• Update and maintain lab databases to ensure accurate inventory and documentation.
• Perform physical hardware setup including 4-post rail kits and virtual consoles.
• Execute network cabling tasks using various transceivers and connector types.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in networking and equipment installation.
• Proficiency in configuring routing and switching protocols.
• Hands-on experience with network cabling including SMF, MMF, MTP/MPO, RJ45, and DB9.
• Knowledge of transceivers such as LR, SR, LR4, and SR.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment (50lbs+) using server lifts and power tools.
• Understanding of standard protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, Dynamic routing, SSH/SCP/SFTP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, CIFS, SMTP, SNMP, and DHCP.
• Experience connecting switches, firewalls, and routers.
• Degree in any field.

Preferred Skills

• Windows and VMware administration experience.
• Experience using network testers like IXIA or Spirant.
