Description

Lead the technical direction of the Android team and drive development of native components for our ecommerce application.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction, planning, and implementation decisions for the Android team.
• Design, develop, and maintain native Android components, including navigation and user interfaces.
• Interface with Product, Design, and QA teams to translate wireframes into reusable components.
• Implement infrastructure and middleware to meet SLA, scalability, and disaster recovery needs.
• Mentor junior developers and define operational procedures for change and release management.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Android development.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Android build, test, debug, and CI/CD tools for large-scale applications.
• Experience with concurrency and performance optimization using Coroutines, Flows, WorkManager, and Background Services.
• Working knowledge of architecture patterns that promote decoupling, reuse, and testability.
• Ability to translate wireframes and mock-ups into functional layouts.
• Experience managing post-production operational processes and scripts.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ecommerce app development.
• Knowledge of Android Accessibility and Security principles.
