Description

Lead the design, operations, and performance tuning of Kafka event streaming and Istio service mesh infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kafka platform design, including topic strategy, partitioning, replication, and consumer group management.
• Ensure reliable event streaming by implementing producer/consumer patterns, delivery semantics, and backpressure handling.
• Drive service-to-service communication using Istio patterns for traffic management, routing, and security.
• Collaborate on Kubernetes deployments and operational practices to support Kafka and microservices in production.
• Own incident response and performance tuning for streaming and service mesh components using log and metric-driven troubleshooting.

Required Skills

• 8-12 years of relevant experience in cloud-native infrastructure and integration platforms.
• Deep expertise in Kafka: event streaming, producers, consumers, consumer groups, and topic configuration.
• Experience with scalability and reliability practices for high-throughput messaging systems.
• Production troubleshooting using logs/metrics and performance tuning for streaming workloads.
• Deployment and operational experience in cloud-native environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Kubernetes workload deployment, operations, and troubleshooting.
• Microservices architecture experience.
