Description

You will design, implement, and manage the operational strategy for the Cognos Center of Excellence, ensuring long-term scalability.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Advise internal stakeholders on Cognos architecture blueprints and best practices as the subject matter expert.
• Troubleshoot complex platform and tenant issues, including production incidents.
• Identify optimization areas and create project plans to meet team objectives.
• Automate Cognos administration using Cognos APIs or Python, analyzing usage patterns to anticipate workload.
• Monitor, maintain, and plan platform usage metrics using Python frameworks.

Required Skills

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience with Cognos Analytics.
• 3+ years of experience in Platform Administration and Automation.
• Expertise in IBM Cognos development, Modelling, and ETL concepts.
• Proficiency with SQL, Oracle, and Database technologies including SQL Server, DB2, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Containers and Hybrid/multi-cloud Cognos Analytics deployments.
• Hands-on experience with Cognos Administration on V12 and utilizing Cognos Analytics APIs.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Experience tuning Cognos performance within containerized environments.
• Ability to connect Cognos Analytics to diverse data sources (relational and big data).
