Description

You will design and own the end-to-end data architecture in Microsoft Fabric, defining ingestion frameworks, medallion layers, and lakehouse strategies.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers, including lakehouse strategy and semantic data models.
• Oversee development of data pipelines using Fabric Pipelines and Notebooks for staging, transformations, and conformance.
• Lead structured requirements gathering, translating business needs into canonical POS data models and Gold layer data products.
• Establish standards for CDC, incremental loads, global identifiers, and data quality auditing.
• Mentor internal teams, document architectural patterns, and ensure knowledge transfer for sustained operations.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks).
• Proficiency in Spark and PySpark for data processing.
• Expertise in modern data architecture patterns, specifically lakehouse and medallion architectures.
• Experience with semantic models and Power BI integration.
• Background in data migration and system-of-record transitions.
• Ability to design data products for internal analytics and external partner sharing.
• Experience with transaction-heavy systems (POS, retail, automotive).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with API-based data ingestion and relational databases (Postgres preferred).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with engineering, business, and analytics teams.
