Description

Lead the local Data Engineering team in Chennai, owning technical delivery quality, SQL-based pipeline development, and team mentorship.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own technical output and delivery quality for the local Data Engineering team.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point and provide hands-on guidance for SQL transformations and ELT pipelines.
• Ensure data contracts, quality standards, and performance requirements are met for all team deliverables.
• Coordinate capacity planning, task allocation, and workload management for the team.
• Mentor team members to develop technical skills, efficiency, and delivery maturity.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in SQL development and data engineering.
• Experience leading a technical team and managing delivery cycles.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical direction.
• Proficiency in code review and validation of functional/technical requirements.
• Knowledge of development guidelines, coding standards, and data engineering best practices.
• Collaboration skills to work with global Data & AI teams and data product managers.
• 2 years of experience in data engineering or related technical leadership roles.

• Experience working in a global, cross-functional organization.
• Background in building environments of accountability and continuous improvement.
