Description

You will own the design, implementation, and scaling of mission-critical data systems and architecture.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data architecture and infrastructure to support platform processing and analytics.
• Build scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and storing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Optimize data processing workflows to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and take full ownership of technical projects from conception to delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure integrity across the system.

Required Skills

• 7 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Expertise in building and managing pipelines using Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Engineering degree from a premier institution (IIT, NIT, IIM, FMS, XLRI, or BITS).
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain significant overlap with US Central Time working hours.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in healthcare or fintech startup environments.
