Description

You lead and mentor a team of 7-8 Database developers while owning the lifecycle of mission-critical PostgreSQL systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and administration of PostgreSQL databases across production environments.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security for large-scale database systems.
• Analyze query execution plans to optimize performance and resolve root causes.
• Manage and execute data migrations, upgrades, and environment refreshes.
• Mentor team members in Agile/Scrum practices.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals (WAL, vacuum, checkpoints, memory structures).
• Proficiency in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and analyzing slow queries using pg_stat_activity.
• Experience managing Aurora PostgreSQL clusters on AWS, including parameter groups, snapshots, and PITR.
• Strong command over Linux administration and shell scripting for automation.
• Proven experience leading teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience managing large, complex database ecosystems supporting high transaction volumes.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Database Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
• Familiarity with Datadog, CloudWatch, and Heimdall Proxy.
