Description

Lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise Mainframe applications while mentoring development teams.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of enterprise Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IMS.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor developers, and enforce coding standards through code reviews.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions, including Mainframe modernization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize application performance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, business analysts, QA, and project managers to support releases and deployments.

Required Skills

• 11+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe Development.
• Expert proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and IMS DB/DC.
• Strong experience with IBM z/OS and TSO/ISPF environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Endevor, Changeman, File-AID, Expeditor, and Abend-AID.
• Deep understanding of Batch Processing and Online Transaction Processing.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and DB2 performance tuning.
• Experience with MQ Series and RACF security.
• Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Mainframe APIs, REST services, and Java integration.
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Jenkins.
• Domain experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare.
