Description

You will serve as a technical subject matter expert overseeing mainframe systems, performance, and application dependencies within a commercial insurance policy processing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review mainframe hardware, operating systems, middleware, and application tools to map system dependencies.
• Analyze resource utilization including CPU, memory, and I/O to identify performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Conduct cost analysis on licensing, maintenance fees, and operational expenses to evaluate software effectiveness.
• Assess security, compliance, and disaster recovery measures to mitigate risks from outdated technologies.
• Lead stakeholder calls to drive issue resolution across onsite and offshore teams.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience working with Mainframe technologies.
• Expertise in COBOL.
• Proficiency in DB2.
• Experience with VSAM.
• Hands-on knowledge of CICS.
• Proficiency in JCL.
• Domain knowledge in Business Insurance.
• Strong communication skills for managing stakeholder technical discussions.
