Description

Lead mechanical design, simulation, and validation for complex systems. Mentor engineers, manage project budgets, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Own the full product lifecycle, from concept through design reviews, manufacturing handoff, and production support.
• Lead simulation-based design validation using FEA and CFD for load, stress, thermal, kinematic, motion, and vibration analysis.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, automation, and IoT teams to optimize system performance.
• Conduct reliability testing, FMEA, and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure design robustness and compliance.
• Mentor team members, coordinate project budgets, and manage stakeholder engagement for ROI and timeline adherence.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, simulation, and product development.
• Expert proficiency in CAD tools: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or CATIA.
• Strong expertise in FEA and CFD simulations using ANSYS, COMSOL, or OpenFOAM.
• Deep understanding of material science, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis (ASME Y14.5 or ISO 1101).
• Experience with thermal management, airflow simulation, and cooling system optimization.
• Proficiency in motion control, automation, and IoT integration strategies.
• Strong analytical skills for complex system analysis and failure mode evaluation.

Preferred Skills

• Experience leading reliability testing and comprehensive FMEA processes.
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and automation systems.
