Description
You will design, build, and optimize resilient enterprise data platforms across on-premises and hybrid multi-cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead database migrations and modernization projects from on-premises to cloud environments.
- Architect and engineer data platforms in multi-cloud hybrid environments.
- Implement automation for provisioning, patching, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Ensure database reliability, scalability, and security through established governance.
- Support high-priority incidents as a Level 3 escalation resource.
- Design and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
- Implement observability and monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or LogicMonitor.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of progressive experience in database engineering.
- 5+ years of expertise with PostgreSQL, Redis/Memory DB, DynamoDB, Aurora/RDS, MySQL, Snowflake, and MongoDB.
- 3+ years designing solutions in hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong background in cloud databases and services including AWS, Azure, OCP, OIC, and MongoDB Atlas.
- Advanced SQL and scripting skills in PowerShell and Unix shell.
- Experience with database migrations (cloud to on-premises and vice versa, both homogeneous and heterogeneous).
- Proficiency in schema design, relational/dimensional modeling, and IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency with SQL tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, PGAdmin, DPA, snowsql, or MongoDB Compass.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
Preferred Skills
- AWS or Azure certifications.
- Python and JSON scripting experience.
