Description

Technical lead for electric drive projects, executing production development processes with plant teams. You own functional decomposition, interface definitions, and system-level solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering requirements for electric drive systems by working with Centers of Competence (CoCs) and customers.
• Design electric drive systems, including analysis of components like machines, inverters, converters, batteries, and control systems.
• Steer exploration of alternatives to establish competitive system-level solutions that meet application needs.
• Plan and execute functional performance verification, test planning, setup, execution, and documentation for components and systems.
• Commission new systems and vehicles, troubleshoot vehicle system problems, and determine application-specific software performance parameters.

Required Skills

• Product engineering and product design experience (at least 3 years).
• Experience leading technical projects (at least 2 years).
• Technical experience in the development, design, or test of electric drive systems (at least 2 years).
• Demonstrated ability to design electric drive systems achieving program technical and financial goals in a production environment.
• Strong focus on requirements definition and documentation.
• Ability to verify electric drive components and systems, including functional performance, environmental qualification, certification, reliability, and durability.
• Experience working with simulation, Motor, Hardware, and Software development teams.
• Ability to work with internal SE teams and external suppliers to define component requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience contributing to technical roadmaps and system architecture roadmaps.
• Ability to integrate electric drive systems into vehicles, designing interfaces and specifying related vehicle systems.
