Description

You will architect, develop, and maintain firmware for connected hardware and accessories.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain firmware for next-generation connected devices and accessories.
• Lead hardware-software integration, including board bring-up and debugging.
• Collaborate with iOS, Android, Cloud, and Electrical Engineering teams.
• Drive technical direction for embedded connectivity, real-time systems, and sensor integration.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to long-term platform strategy.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Expert-level proficiency in Rust.
• Strong Python skills for tooling and automation.
• Deep experience with ARM SoCs, RISC-V, MCUs, and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
• Hands-on experience with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, and DRAM protocols.
• Experience with bare-metal and RTOS-based system design.
• Ability to read schematics, interpret datasheets, and use lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Proficiency in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Jira.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, concurrency, and real-time constraints.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Rust specifically in embedded environments.
• Contributions to open-source embedded projects or technical publications.
