Description

You will lead the design and evolution of Crossplane compositions, Kubernetes controllers, and cloud-native infrastructure for distributed systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of Crossplane compositions and Composite Resource Definitions, managing schema, versioning, and upgrade paths.
• Implement Kubernetes controllers, CRDs, and custom providers, handling reconciliation loops, admission webhooks, and drift management.
• Drive the migration from Terraform/Jenkins provisioning to a Kubernetes-native path, defining sequencing and invariants.
• Make architectural decisions for AWS and Azure networking, including Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, and hub-spoke topologies.
• Set technical standards for code review, testing, and release safety while mentoring engineers and serving as on-call escalation anchor.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building distributed systems or platform infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in Go and Kubernetes, including writing controllers and shipping operator-style software in production.
• Strong experience with Crossplane, including designing XRDs and managing provider integrations.
• Proficiency in API design and managing technical leadership across distributed teams.
• Experience with AWS and Azure networking concepts and cloud-native infrastructure.

Preferred Skills

• Open-source contributions in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Experience with Terraform and Jenkins migration strategies.
• Knowledge of Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, VPC endpoints, PrivateLink, and cross-region reachability.
