Description

Lead the technical vision and implementation of scalable search platforms for eCommerce, mentoring engineering teams and driving search relevance metrics.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for search infrastructure, ensuring scalability for growing data volumes.
• Mentor search engineers through technical reviews, establishing best practices and collaborative problem-solving.
• Build and maintain search capabilities with measurable KPIs, including CTR, Query Distribution, and Zero Search metrics.
• Integrate advanced capabilities such as NLP, vector search, and personalization to enhance search accuracy.
• Partner with product managers and data scientists to align search initiatives with business objectives and develop headless frameworks.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in search engineering, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, and Scala.
• Deep expertise with search engines: Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, SOLR, and Coveo.
• Experience deploying and managing services on AWS.
• Background in Machine Learning applications within search contexts.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven track record in building large-scale, highly available systems.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Lucene, LucidWorks Fusion, and distributed systems.
• Experience with event streaming, cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud), and DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with AI code generation tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and NLP.
