Description

Lead the design and development of Java backend services for workflow orchestration platforms like Appian.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Define backend architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices for workflow-centric solutions.
• Partner with workflow platform engineers to translate requirements into robust APIs and integrations.
• Design and build scalable microservices using Java and Spring-based frameworks.
• Drive integrations with enterprise systems using REST, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and promote engineering excellence.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring-based frameworks.
• Experience with Appian workflow orchestration platforms.
• Deep understanding of REST APIs and integration patterns.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to design scalable microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Experience collaborating with product, infrastructure, and security teams.
