Description

Refactor legacy COBOL and JCL business logic into scalable Java Spring Boot microservices, migrating data from DB2 and VSAM to AWS RDS.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex data lifecycles by bridging VSAM and DB2 mainframe databases with modern AWS RDS instances.
• Architect and document RESTful APIs to enable secure communication between modern web front-ends, backend microservices, and legacy CICS transactions.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications within a cross-functional Agile team.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, troubleshooting bottlenecks in high-latency mainframe batches and high-throughput cloud environments.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in full stack development with a focus on enterprise applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS and cloud architecture.
• Deep knowledge of legacy systems, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Microservices architecture patterns.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with IBM Watson AI services.
• Knowledge of IoT integrations.
