Description

You will design, develop, and maintain low-level CPU software for network products, including automated testing, hardware qualification, and upstream open-source contributions.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain low-level CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader software.
• Develop automated tests in C, C++, and Python to validate features and fix bugs.
• Qualify new CPUs and components by working with hardware engineers and vendors.
• Analyze and resolve issues found by system test engineers and customer support.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers in development practices.

Required Skills

• Expert-level programming in C.
• Experience with C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience in CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader development.
• Experience bringing up new CPU boards and troubleshooting low-level issues.
• Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU architectures.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving and software design skills.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Linux kernel architecture and design.
• Knowledge of IP networking principles.
• Experience contributing to upstream open-source BIOS communities.
