Description

You design and own the Azure data platform architecture, integrating lab informatics systems (LIMS, SDMS, ELN) with enterprise data lakes and analytics pipelines.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Architect Azure-based data platforms using ADLS Gen2, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
• Define data ingestion and transformation patterns for structured and unstructured laboratory data using Spark and Delta Lake.
• Implement data governance and lineage using Microsoft Purview, ensuring GxP and FDA compliance.
• Enable digital thread integration across lab systems (LIMS/SDMS) via APIs, batch processing, and event-driven architectures.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub for automated deployment of data models and infrastructure.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Azure Data Architecture, including ADLS Gen2, Databricks, and Synapse.
• Hands-on expertise with LIMS platforms (LabWare, STARLIMS) and SDMS solutions (BIOVIA, Waters NuGenesis).
• Strong proficiency in Spark, Delta Lake, and data transformation frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage, and governance.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, and Service Bus for data integration.
• Familiarity with Power BI semantic models and data science pipelines.
• Understanding of GxP, FDA regulations, and audit traceability requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with scientific data modeling and instrument data capture formats.
• Background in lab workflows, samples, methods, and results management.
