Description

Design end-to-end data solutions for migration and new use cases across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.

None of the work mode flags (is_remote, hybrid, on_site) are set to 1, so no work mode line is included.

Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models including star schemas and SCDs.
• Define source-to-target mappings, transformation logic, and business rules for data products.
• Make hands-on GCP service design decisions balancing performance, cost, and security.
• Partner with Tech Leads and Data Engineers to guide implementation and review builds.
• Lead solution design reviews, documenting key decisions, tradeoffs, and rationale.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of progressive experience in data engineering and solution architecture.
• Strong, hands-on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Dataform, Cloud Storage.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling, star schemas, and analytics-ready structures.
• Advanced SQL skills for designing complex transformations on large datasets.
• Working knowledge of GCP security and IAM (least privilege, dataset/domain access).
• Demonstrated ability to operate across architecture and implementation, guiding engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with platform modernization or EDW to GCP migration programs.
• Familiarity with semantic layer concepts, data catalog/metadata platforms, and governance workflows.
