Description

You will lead the architecture, design, and backend administration of end-to-end monitoring and observability solutions within an AWS environment.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Own the backend administration and engineering support of the Datadog tool, including complex dashboards, integrations, and custom metrics.
• Architect and manage the integration of Datadog with ServiceNow to automate incident management workflows and CMDB synchronization.
• Oversee the deployment and management of AWS resources including EC2, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and S3.
• Define monitoring strategies through SLO/SLI definitions, synthetic monitoring, and anomaly detection.
• Lead high-severity incident management, root cause analysis, and technical mentorship for junior engineers.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional experience in systems or DevOps environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience providing backend administration and engineering support for Datadog.
• 5+ years of experience managing and optimizing AWS cloud services.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for scripting and automation.
• Experience with Terraform and CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong understanding of networking, security best practices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure integration.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes monitoring and log aggregation tools like Fluentd or ELK stack.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or ServiceNow ITOM modules.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.
