Description

You will lead the design and delivery of high-quality software solutions using C to address core product requirements and customer issues.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead features from initial concept through all development phases, including functional specifications, implementation, and scalability testing.
• Evaluate software defects, security vulnerabilities, and performance issues within Linux-based, multi-threaded environments.
• Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the Linux kernel and open-source libraries.
• Coordinate development efforts across global Product Management, Support, and Software Development teams.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software development experience focusing on C programming in Linux or Unix environments.
• Deep expertise in Linux kernel and OS internals, including multi-threading, filesystems, and databases.
• Proficiency with the GNU toolchain and kernel-level debugging using gdb.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts.
• Proficiency in shell, Perl, or Python.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, EE, or an equivalent field.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s degree in CS, CE, or EE.
• Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, vSphere, vCloud Director, RH OpenStack, or Ubuntu OpenStack.
• Linux Kernel development experience.
