Description

You will own structural design projects from client consultation through final delivery. You collaborate with the drafting team to produce detailed, accurate drawings and prepare structural calculations and technical reports. You ensure all designs meet specific structural requirements and applicable building codes. You navigate job sites to verify field conditions, including walking uneven terrain, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. You work independently with minimal supervision to solve problems creatively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to define project needs and structural requirements.
• Produce detailed structural drawings in coordination with the drafting team.
• Perform structural calculations and compile detailed engineering reports.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and ensure design compliance.
• Maintain proactive, self-driven workflow with independent problem-solving.

Required Skills

• Current Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license in Utah, or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering.
• Strong foundation in structural engineering principles and building codes.
• Ability to navigate job sites, including climbing ladders and maneuvering in confined spaces.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration and creative problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Professional Engineer license with active pursuit of Structural Engineer licensure.
