Description

Manage and maintain Linux server infrastructure, virtualization, and release processes for Dev, QA, Staging, and Production environments.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Red Hat Linux 6-7 servers hosting Linux VMs on VMware ESX.
• Mirror root disks using LVM, SVM, and VxVM.
• Manage backups, including TSM and file system backups.
• Patch Red Hat based servers and monitor performance metrics like memory and disk usage.
• Own the end-to-end software and infrastructure release process across all environments.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional experience in Linux administration.
• Expertise in Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
• Proficiency with LVM and SVM for volume management.
• Experience with VMware ESX for virtualization.
• Familiarity with Ansible for configuration management.
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tooling.
• Experience managing and monitoring server performance.
• Ability to configure and maintain Linux application servers.

Preferred Skills

• VxVM experience.
• TSM backup management.
• Crontab automation.
