Description

Manage and support Kafka clusters in high-transaction environments. Design, build, and configure technical architecture components based on business requirements. Administer Kafka clusters hosted on ROSA in AWS and on-premise OpenShift platforms. Support system administrators with Kafka platform provisioning, access lists, Kerberos, and SSL configurations. Maintain system availability and scalability for web transaction systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build technical architecture components aligned with business requirements.
• Administer Kafka clusters on ROSA (AWS) and on-premise OpenShift.
• Provision Kafka platforms, manage access lists, and configure Kerberos/SSL.
• Maintain availability and scalability of web transaction systems.
• Ensure robust Kafka cluster performance and security.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of Unix/Linux (RHEL) administration experience.
• 5 years of Kafka administration experience.
• 2 years of MSK (Kafka in Cloud) experience.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka clusters on ROSA and OpenShift.
• Strong understanding of Kafka use cases and architecture.
• Proficiency with Unix and Kafka.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and No-SQL databases.
• Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience standing up Kafka platforms from scratch, including broker and topic sizing, and mirroring.
• Building Kafka pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Shell scripts.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, or Jenkins.
