Description

You will manage and execute complex database migration strategies onto hardened Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute migration paths for database landscapes, selecting between RMAN XTTS, Data Guard, or Data Pump.
• Configure and harden target Linux servers, managing kernel parameters, HugePages, and sysctl settings for database workloads.
• Automate Linux environment provisioning across Dev, UAT, and Production using IaC.
• Benchmark SQL execution plans and system throughput to resolve performance regressions post-migration.
• Manage storage transition from Solaris ZFS/UFS to Linux-native file systems or ASM.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Proficiency in system administration: process management (systemd), storage (LVM, multipath), and SELinux.
• Strong Shell Scripting (Bash/Python) for automation and system checks.
• Expertise in Oracle Database (12c/19c) architecture.
• Experience with Endian conversion (Solaris SPARC Big-Endian to Linux Little-Endian).
• Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate for zero-downtime migrations.
• Understanding of Solaris features like Zones/LDOMs, ZFS, and DTrace.
