Description

You will manage Linux systems and IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) software across bare metal, cloud, and virtualized environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer Spectrum Scale software for daily operations, including server pattern deployment and software upgrades.
• Execute system deployments, patching, configuration, and maintenance across production, QA, and development environments.
• Perform incident response and root cause analysis for security vulnerabilities, performance degradation, and system outages.
• Manage storage solutions by defining file systems, attaching storage, and resolving file set conflicts.
• Automate routine tasks and system provisioning using scripting and configuration management tools.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional experience in systems administration.
• 5+ years managing RHEL systems in production, including user management and system tuning.
• Expertise in IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) administration and large-scale storage implementations.
• Proficiency in Bash and Python for task automation.
• Experience with Ansible and Puppet for configuration management.
• Strong understanding of networking including DNS, IPtables, and VPN.
• Hands-on experience with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, NetApp, NFS, and LVM.
• Knowledge of system monitoring and log management using journalctl and rsyslog.
• Familiarity with security compliance, CIS benchmarks, and security patching.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud architectures.
