Description

You will provide senior Linux system administration support for a 3-month contract focused on OS upgrades, security updates, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Execute security updates across 100+ systems, including FireEye HX removal and Microsoft Defender configuration.
• Perform major and minor OS upgrades and migrations for Ubuntu desktops and RedHat/CentOS servers.
• Automate workflows by converting Bash scripts to Ansible YAML.
• Manage physical server maintenance, including iDRAC, and handle SSL certificate replacements.
• Validate boot files, analyze scheduled jobs, and review logging via syslog-ng.
• Audit and improve authentication integrations using Kerberos, SSSD, LDAP, and Active Directory.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in RedHat/CentOS and Ubuntu system administration.
• 5+ years of experience with Bash and Python scripting.
• 5+ years of experience with Ansible automation.
• 5+ years of experience with Git repository management.
• 5+ years of experience with VMware and deployment methods.
• 5+ years of experience in physical server maintenance and iDRAC.
• 5+ years of experience implementing system security best practices.
• 5+ years of experience with authentication protocols including KRB, SSSD, A/D, and LDAP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
