Description

Build and maintain Debian-based and RPM-based Linux distributions and complex build systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Debian-based and RPM-based Linux distributions.
• Manage build systems using makefiles, autoconf, cmake, and various compilers.
• Write RPM spec files and handle open source packaging.
• Resolve package dependencies, fix build breaks, and manage package upgrades.
• Perform security patching for CVE fixes and run package tests (ptests).

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in Linux build engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Debian-based and RPM-based Linux distributions.
• Proficiency with the Yocto project.
• Experience with build tools including makefiles, autoconf, and cmake.
• Knowledge of writing RPM spec files and managing package dependencies.
• Experience with VMware Toolchain and Cayman.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting skills.
• Experience performing CVE security patching and package testing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VMware environments.
