Description

You will own the Linux compute platform during a large-scale server migration project, ensuring stability, security, and performance across all phases.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute end-to-end server migrations, including physical servers, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines between data centers.
  • Configure and troubleshoot iSCSI storage networks, ensuring proper connectivity, multipathing, and performance tuning.
  • Manage LVM configurations during migration, including volume group export/import, logical volume resizing, and snapshot-based migrations.
  • Develop automation tooling and migration runbooks to streamline workflows and ensure successful completion within maintenance windows.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to assess migration readiness and integrate modern stack components like Kubernetes and OpenStack.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system engineering.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale data center or server migration projects (P2V, V2V, site-to-site).
  • Deep understanding of Linux OS internals and system configuration management.
  • Strong expertise with Red Hat OpenShift virtualization (CNV) and VMware ESXi environments.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Jenkins for infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SaltStack for system configuration management.
  • Knowledge of Subversion and Maven for build management.
