Description

You will manage and maintain a global estate of over 5,000 Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris servers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deploy patches and server rebuilds to manage ongoing vulnerabilities.
• Perform system administration, including server builds, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Execute system recoveries and participate in disaster recovery exercises to ensure availability.
• Resolve help desk escalations and troubleshoot system issues during bridge calls.
• Monitor servers and remediate alerts according to documented processes and procedures.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Linux system administration.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 5/6/7).
• Proficiency with TCP/IP, NFS, DNS, LDAP, FTP, NTP, and Samba.
• Experience with Kickstart or Jumpstart for automated builds.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or RHEV.
• Experience with Veritas products including VxVM, VxFS, VCS, and VVR.
• Proficiency with Puppet and shell scripting.
• Experience managing HP ProLiant and DELL server hardware.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure.

Preferred Skills

• Python or Perl scripting skills.
• Experience with OpenShift, AWS, or public cloud technologies.
