Description

You will serve as a Linux engineering subject matter expert, owning projects and business support requests from initiation to completion.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement multiple solution approaches for complex engineering tasks.
• Drive the development and implementation of selected technical options.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project goals and customer satisfaction initiatives are met.
• Provide regular status updates and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Linux configuration and engineering.
• Intermediate proficiency in Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience configuring, installing, and administering Debian-based Ubuntu and RHEL systems.
• Hands-on hardware management including firmware, iLO, and LVM storage configuration.
• Proficiency with KVM hypervisor virtualization.
• Experience with Docker (EE & CE), creating containers, and using docker-compose.
• Management of SystemD and Linux services including NTP, DNS, Squid, NFS, and iptables.
• Administration of middleware services such as Apache and MySQL.
• Implementation of system security including firewalls, PKI, and security scanning tools like Qualys.
• Experience with Linux benchmarking and performance testing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Ansible, or Jenkins pipelines.
• Knowledge of Git, Linux monitoring/alerting, and capacity planning.
• Experience with HA environments or hybrid cloud platforms like OpenShift and OpenStack.
