Description

You will own low-level kernel development, debugging, and x86 architecture optimization.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve kernel panics and critical system failures.
• Debug and optimize kernel device drivers for hardware stability.
• Configure GRUB bootloader settings to manage boot parameters.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the kernel and drivers.
• Automate debugging, testing, and monitoring using shell scripts.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in kernel-level development and complex systems debugging.
• Expertise in C programming for kernel-level implementation.
• Deep understanding of x86 CPU architecture, registers, memory management, and interrupt handling.
• Proficiency with GDB, KGDB, crash, and kdump for crash dump analysis.
• Experience using SystemTap or DTrace for dynamic tracing.
• Knowledge of x86 boot processes (BIOS/UEFI, GRUB, kernel startup).
• Strong command of Linux internals, system administration, and dmesg log analysis.
• Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Preferred Skills

• Bash scripting for automation and system monitoring.
