Description

Manage and optimize Linux/Unix infrastructure and application environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, including server builds, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Troubleshoot OS and hardware issues while managing incidents, service requests, changes, and problems.
• Automate OS administration tasks by creating and modifying scripts.
• Perform performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
• Ensure compliance with security standards through regular OS patching and monitoring.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting, Python, or Perl for task automation.
• Experience with MQ and Autosys.
• Working knowledge of SQL and databases.
• General understanding of Windows server environments.
• Experience managing incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks.
• Availability for on-call and weekend work.
