Description

Engineer and maintain Linux network infrastructure, focusing on tunneling, traffic control, and protocol analysis.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot GRE tunnels on Linux systems.
• Analyze network traffic using packet capture tools to resolve connectivity issues.
• Implement traffic shaping and QoS policies using tc and DSCP.
• Manage firewall rules and packet filtering with nftables and iptables.
• Automate network tasks and scripting using Bash and Python.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of Linux Systems or Network Engineering experience.
• Proficiency with iproute2 suite for network configuration.
• Strong packet capture and analysis skills using tcpdump and Wireshark/tshark.
• Deep understanding of L2–L4 protocols and MTU mechanics.
• Experience working with GRE tunnels on Linux.
• Proficient with Bash and Python scripting.
• Knowledge of nftables/iptables for firewall management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Linux network namespace and veth pair management.
• Familiarity with SDN controllers or overlay network protocols.
