Job Overview
 

Our client is seeking an experienced Linux Operating Systems Engineer to support and manage enterprise Linux environments at scale. This role requires deep expertise in RHEL, cloud infrastructure, automation, and IT service management within a security-conscious enterprise setting.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8) environments at enterprise scale
• Automate routine administration tasks, system monitoring, and deployments using Ansible and scripting languages
• Analyze logs, identify root causes, and resolve performance or availability issues
• Apply Linux hardening, manage user/access controls, and perform security patching and vulnerability remediation
• Support Linux workloads running on AWS (EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling)
• Manage incidents, change requests, problem records, and CMDB updates via ServiceNow
• Ensure adherence to ITIL framework processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management

Required Skills
 

• RHEL / Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
• Bash, Python, and/or Perl scripting
• Ansible for automation and configuration management
• Linux Kernel, Systemd, LVM, XFS, EXT4 file systems
• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, NFS
• SELinux, security patching, auditing, and compliance standards
• AWS: EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling
• ServiceNow (Incident, Change, Problem, CMDB, Reporting)
• ITIL Framework

Preferred Skills
 

• 5+ years of dedicated Linux system administration experience
• Experience with enterprise security and compliance frameworks
• Familiarity with performance tuning and memory/process management in Linux
