Description

Manage the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Linux-based server infrastructure to ensure 24/7 service availability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Administer daily operations of RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu systems, monitoring uptime and resolving OS-level issues.
  • Manage boot-level configurations including GRUB, UEFI, and OpenBoot PROM, and troubleshoot kernel parameters.
  • Configure and maintain secure Jump Servers (Bastion Hosts) and enforce IAM standards via sudoers policies and SSH keys.
  • Manage software lifecycles using YUM, DNF, and APT, including dependency resolution and OS patching.
  • Monitor physical server health via IPMI, iLO, or DRAC, and coordinate hardware replacements and firmware upgrades.

Required Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in Linux-based operational support.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux internals, file system hierarchy, and Bash scripting.
  • Hands-on experience configuring BIND (DNS) and Sendmail (MTA) in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in NFS configuration, troubleshooting network-based file sharing, and managing quotas.
  • Experience with enterprise server hardware (Dell, HPE, or IBM) and remote management consoles.
  • Strong understanding of SSH tunneling, firewall management (IPTables/Firewalld), and secure access protocols.

Preferred Skills

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or CompTIA Linux+ certification.
  • Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC-1 or LPIC-2).
