Description

You will own the administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of Linux-based infrastructure, serving as the primary escalation point for critical incidents.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE), including OS upgrades, migrations, and service requests within SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and drive trend analysis to reduce incident frequency.
• Automate routine operational tasks using advanced shell and Perl scripting.
• Handle hardware troubleshooting, firmware upgrades, and vendor coordination for Dell and HP servers.
• Support new server builds, configure KVM virtualization, and manage storage via NFS and automount.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Linux Administration (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE).
• Strong expertise in advanced shell scripting and automation.
• Hands-on experience with KVM, LVM configuration, and virtualization.
• Proficiency in RedHat/Veritas cluster configuration and high availability.
• Knowledge of NIS/NIS+, DNS, and Satellite Server management.
• Experience in patch management, OS recovery, and crash analysis.
• Familiarity with VMware environments and cross-domain knowledge of Storage, Backup, Database, Middleware, and Network.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AIX, IBM Power Systems (POWER7/8/9/10), and PowerHA (HACMP).
• Knowledge of Solaris (8-11) administration and storage technologies like VxVM or ZFS.
