Description

You will manage and secure Linux infrastructure on AWS, focusing on Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. You will handle system patching, vulnerability management, and performance tuning while ensuring robust security controls and network stability.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Administer RHEL on AWS, managing EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, SSM, and EBS resources.
• Implement OS patching, snapshot management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor system performance and scale environments up or down as needed.
• Configure and maintain services including Apache, nginx, MySQL, and Bind.
• Manage network traffic, security protocols, and access controls across the infrastructure.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Strong expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) on AWS.
• Proficient in Bash and Python scripting.
• Experience with automation tools: Ansible, CloudFormation, Puppet, or Chef.
• Deep understanding of AWS networking (VPCs, subnets, routing) and security groups.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including data encryption, key management, and web browser security.
• Experience with volume management (LVM, ZFS, SVM) and network tools (iptables, HAProxy, IPVS).
• Familiarity with wired/wireless networking, VLANs, VPN, IPv4/IPv6.

Preferred Skills

• RHCT, RHCE, or LPIC certifications.
• Experience with user account management for large organizations.
• Knowledge of multi-platform storage solutions like VERITAS.
