About the role
Seeking an experienced Unix/Linux L3 Administrator to join our on-site team in Plano. The role focuses on installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Unix systems in a production, 24x7 environment. Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL) and Solaris, plus scripting and root-cause analysis skills, are essential.

Key responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux systems and services
Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, and storage
Administer network services (DNS, NFS, SSH, SMTP, etc.) and enforce security best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and service-level issues in production
Provide technical support and guidance to users and IT teams
Develop and maintain automation and scripts to streamline operations
Stay current with Unix/Linux patches, tooling, and best practices

Required qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Unix/Linux system administrator
Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Solaris platforms
RHEL certification required
Proficiency with Unix tools: vi, sed, awk, grep
Experience scripting in Perl, Python, or similar languages
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex system issues and performing root-cause analysis
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work a 24x7 rotational schedule, including weekends

Nice to have
Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
Familiarity with monitoring/log analysis tools and cloud/virtualization platforms
