Description

You will manage the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Unix systems in a 24x7 production environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux systems and services.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, file systems, and storage.
• Administer network services (DNS, NFS, SSH, SMTP) and enforce security best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and service-level issues in production.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Unix/Linux system administrator.
• Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and Solaris platforms.
• RHEL certification required.
• Proficiency with Unix tools: vi, sed, awk, grep.
• Experience scripting in Perl or Python.
• Ability to work a 24x7 rotational schedule, including weekends.
• Proven track record of root-cause analysis for complex system issues.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
• Familiarity with monitoring, log analysis, cloud, or virtualization platforms.
